PART TIME PROGRAMMES
Admission Policy
The Department of Education has stated that institutions must require a National Senior Certificate [NSC)] as certified by Umalusi for admission into their higher education programmes from 2009. [Department of Education (2005). Minimum Admission Requirements. Pretoria: DoE.]
Inscape applies this requirement at present, except that we also admit applicants via RPL assessment.
Applicants who have successfully completed Grade 12 with the subjects: English as a first language usually have a suitable academic background for admission to a part time programme, but each applicant completes an admission form and a self analysis “depth perception/spacial awareness/ lateral thinking” test
Admission Procedures

The attributes sought in an applicant for a part time programme are: the ability to communicate well, an inquiring mind, problem solving abilities, personal discipline, creativity, an aesthetic sensibility and perhaps most important, the right attitude.
enrolment
· The prospective student completes the Contact of Enrolment in full and, if they are under the age of 21, it needs to be co-signed by their parent or guardian.
· The applicant returns the Contact of Enrolment form and, if necessary the Debit Order & Credit Card Authority forms, together with the enrolment fee, and (if they have not brought them before) two ID photos to the college.
· Once completed the Contract of Enrolment checklist is checked by the college secretary and submitted to the financial officer together with the enrolment fee.
· The financial officer issues a receipt for the enrolment fee and capture the details thereof on the Contract of Enrolment.
· The student’s details are captured on the enrolment register and onto the Pastel accounting program.
· The Contract of Enrolment is sent to the Johannesburg college secretary who types the Confirmation of Enrolment letter, attaches a copy of the Contract of Enrolment and either gives or posts these to the student.
· Contracts of Enrolment that have been faxed to the college are replaced with the original documents when the student starts classes.
· All original Contracts of Enrolment are filed in alphabetical order per campus progam of study
· Students bring a certified copy of their Grade 12 / National Senior Certificates to the college secretary during orientation week. The college secretary checks that she has received all matriculation certificates and files them with the students’ Contract of Enrolment by the end of February each year.
