INSCAPE EDUCATION GROUP
Policy and Procedures for Admission into olearn programmes R1.2
2011/08/17
Admission Policy
It is in the interests of our students, past and present and their reputation, for Inscape to admit students who have a reasonable likelihood of successfully completing the programme.
The Department of Higher Education and Training has stated that institutions must require a National Senior Certificate [NSC)] as certified by Umalusi for admission into their higher education programmes from 2009. [Department of Education (2005). Minimum Admission Requirements. Pretoria: DoE.]
Inscape applies this requirement at present, except that we also admit applicants via RPL assessment.
Applicants who have successfully completed Grade 12 with the subjects: English as a first language usually have a suitable academic background for admission to an olearn programme.
Applicants are welcome to attend a workshop, information session, Open Day or career advisory interview before enrolling to ensure that that there are no misunderstandings about their chosen career, programme, institution or about the applicant’s commitments.
Admission Procedures
application
The attributes sought in an applicant for an olearn programme are: the ability to communicate well, an inquiring mind, problem solving abilities, personal discipline, creativity, an aesthetic sensibility and perhaps most important, the right attitude.
Prospective students are also invited to attend a workshop, information session, Open Day or career advisory interview before enrolling to ensure that that there are no misunderstandings about their chosen career, programme, institution or about the applicant’s commitments.
The process from enquiry to enrolment is captured in the following workflow diagram:
